March 10th: Auckland, Our next to last day

Today we had the short excursion in the am which was not that great. First we went to the sky tower, similar to the one in Melbourne. However, this one is taller (because of the sphere on top) but the observation platform is lower. However, we did get great views of the city. We also visited their sealife aquarium which has the first and of course, oldest tunnel with water surrounded you on all sides. Of course we have been to much better ones on our travels--Genoa in Italy and Valencia in Spain. I did get to see penguins, however not the blue penguins that are native to NZ. Oh well. In the harbor near our ship is a yacht owned by a Russian billionaire that is said to be worth 350 million dollars. It was here getting retrofitted and is now done. It is called "A". You can goggle it and see pictures of the inside. Unfortunately we were not invited on board so I only have pictures from our ship.

Tomorrow we are getting picked up at the pier at 8:30 by a tour guide. He was drive us around Auckland and the surrounding area, eventually dropping us off at the airport. We will have dinner at the airport, do some duty free shopping and then get our flight which is due to take off at 10:45 PM. We will then lose a day and repeat March 11th to arrive in LAX at 3 PM and then home by 7:30 PM. One of my first tasks is to get cox up and running again.

See everyone in AZ soon and the rest some time during spring and/or summer
